Our special Spirit Bear photography tour
takes place in the Great Bear Rainforest of British Columbia, Canada.
This forest is the largest ancient temperate rainforest left on the
planet. The towering trees give way to lush carpets of green moss
drenched in moisture. Streams teeming with wild salmon feed the elusive
Kemode Bear, known here as the Spirit Bear. The First Nations people gave the bears this name due to their belief that they were a symbol of great wisdom, strength and healing. The area we will be traveling in is only accessible by boat or float plane and lies within the Gitga'at First Nation Territory. Our guide will be the renowned Marven Robinson, who has been following many of the animals in the area his whole life. Marven has been featured in multiple documentaries on the area including one by National Geographic and the new IMAX film entitled Great Bear Rainforest. He will take us to locations that are only open to people of First Nations and their guests. The timing of these trips will coincide with the peak of the salmon runs. This will greatly improve your chances of success.
